Excursion & Sightseeing Vessels of the U.S.

Twilight..by Tim Powell

Every city of any size on most navigable rivers will have one or more sightseeing boats. Some are used for "eco-tourism", some for just cruising the harbors, some include dinners onboard, and even shows. Many are either actual working paddlewheelers or replicas using diesel engines. The WWII "Ducks" are still in widespread use for sightseeing. This section will list most of these vessels used in the U.S., as of the 2006 reporting year.

Our photo database contains pictures of some of these vessels, and Dick's Towboat Gallery contains many more. Both we and he would welcome your photos.
